Comparison
Primed Vs. Painted Doors
Decide whether to keep the door in factory prime or choose a finished color before the order is placed.
Factory prime is the simpler path
Factory prime is the clean default when the painter, jobsite sequence, or final color decision is still open. It keeps the order moving without locking the project into a finish too early.
Painted is the more complete path
Choosing a finished color inside the order flow makes sense when the buyer already knows the palette and wants the door to arrive closer to final condition.
Best next step
If the finish decision is still open, stay with prime. If the color is already chosen, use the builder to select the Sherwin-Williams finish option before checkout.
Take the next step
Once the comparison is clear, move into the guided quote flow or jump into a common size route.
